Three Communities, One Philosophy at RiverWoods

From a kitchen table to the largest family of CCRCs in Northern New England, for the last 25 years, we have been driven by a responsibility to pursue creative, innovative ways that transform the expectations of aging for the better.

We remain true to our founders’ original vision of community and peace of mind, and to bring this way of life to as many people as possible.

RiverWoods Exeter

Three neighborhoods nestled among the evergreens, this unique, resident-driven community of friends reaches across three distinct campus neighborhoods: The Woods, The Ridge, and The Boulders.

RiverWoods Durham

Where the active RiverWoods way of life meets the natural beauty and academic culture of Durham, NH. This dynamic new CCRC opened in late 2019.

RiverWoods Manchester

A vibrant community of older adults passionate about living their best life, RiverWoods Manchester offers the cultural variety of nearby downtown Manchester within a peaceful, pastoral setting.

We Are Partners Not Parents

From our early days, RiverWoods was different. As an organization created by residents, we take resident participation seriously, and residents have a strong voice in how all of our communities evolve.

Our Residents Co-Create Community with Staff and Leadership

We encourage our residents to be active citizens in the life of their new home. There are many choices — participating in committees, starting a new initiative, or, helping run our on-campus enterprises. Residents who serve on the Resident Council work directly with the Executive Director. There is also an opportunity for a resident to be a full voting member on our CCRC Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of the CEO of the RiverWoods Group, volunteer members of the external community, and residents of our communities. They work in partnership to provide strategic direction for the future of the RiverWoods Group family.
