
Each year around July, residents of RiverWoods Exeter submit over a hundred photos to be considered for the RiverWoods Exeter art calendar. Submissions feature drawings, paintings, sculptures made from wood or clay, woven or stitched items, and photography, all created by the residents themselves. Once all submissions are received, they are each individually judged by an independent panel, from which only twelve are chosen to be featured in the calendar.
Now in its 15th year, this year’s winning pieces are creative and show the vast amount of talent residing at RiverWoods. As one resident said of the pieces:
“I found myself absolutely amazed by the incredible talent and variety in the exhibit. I found myself speechless at the beauty and creativity on display, and felt happy and appreciative of being surrounded by so many people with amazing vision and the ability to share it with all of us.”
The art reception was held on November 20, where judges and residents had a chance to meet and mingle with the winners over a glass of wine and plate of appetizers. A few of the winning pieces are shown below.
