For more than three decades, RiverWoods has believed that strong communities are built through compassion, connection, and people helping one another. As part of this belief, RiverWoods Exeter hosted a gala every two years to bring residents, families, friends, and community partners together in support of a local nonprofit. Over the course of eleven previous RiverWoods Galas, generous supporters have helped raise more than $800,000 for local charitable organizations.
That is why we are excited to bring the RiverWoods Gala back. This year, the evening will benefit the Seacoast Dementia Hub, helping us expand its reach so that more caregivers and families can access guidance, education, resources, and a supportive community at no cost to them. Guests can look forward to live entertainment, delicious food and refreshments, and live and silent auctions.
This year’s theme, Illuminate Tomorrow: A Celebration of Hope, reflects our commitment to bringing hope, guidance, and brighter tomorrows to dementia caregivers throughout our community. It is an evening to celebrate generosity, strengthen our community, and ensure that more caregivers receive the support and connection they deserve. The event will take place on Saturday, October 3, at 5:30 p.m. at 121 Technology Drive in Durham, NH.
The Seacoast Dementia Hub is a no-cost community resource dedicated to supporting dementia caregivers. Founded by local caregivers and operated by RiverWoods in partnership with grant funding from Granite United Way, the Seacoast Women’s Giving Circle, and the Foundation for Seacoast Health, it exists to ensure that no caregiver navigates dementia alone.
Whether you’ve experienced dementia within your own family or witnessed someone close to you walk that journey, chances are it has touched your life in some way. Behind every diagnosis is someone stepping into the role of caregiver, doing their best to navigate unfamiliar challenges while supporting someone they love. They often find themselves searching for answers, coordinating services, and making difficult decisions without knowing where to begin. The Seacoast Dementia Hub provides trusted guidance, education, local resources, and compassionate support, helping families find clarity, confidence, and hope.
Founder Woody Sponaugle captures its purpose best: “Finding a reliable source of information and advice without an expensive and haphazard journey is the purpose of the Seacoast Dementia Hub. This is the most important recommendation I can give after my 20+ years of family caregiving.”
In its pilot year, Seacoast Dementia Hub has provided 189 referrals and support to 62 caregiving families across the Seacoast region. Demand continues to grow. Because these services are offered at no cost, philanthropic support is essential to sustaining and expanding this important work.
Ticket sales will open in the coming weeks.
