The trails are marked and maintained for a pleasant stroll through the woods where residents can sit and enjoy the birds and other wildlife.
Just a half mile from our entrance is the All Person’s Trail at the Nature Conservancy’s Cedar Swamp Preserve. This trail is ADA-certified and offers a wonderful welcome to some extremely rare flora and fauna including a stand of Atlantic White Cedar, monster natural rhododendrons, bird and reptile species, and a black gum tree that is more than 450 years old.
The black gum tree is somewhat of a celebrity on our walks and everyone is encouraged to hug the tree for good luck! Come visit RiverWoods and join us for a weekly walk on the APT.
