Our Current Timeline
We want you to know exactly what to expect and we’re excited to share what’s ahead. Here’s what we’re planning:
- Construction begins: Mid 2026
- First residents move in: Late fall 2027
About the Homes
The new buildings will be located nearby the original building across Stone Quarry Drive. Residents will enjoy the same amenities, dining services, programs, and opportunities for socialization no matter which residence they call home. Plus, you’ll find it easy to stay connected with pedestrian-friendly walkways and transportation services.
With scenic views, open concepts, and modern finishes, the new homes reflect the same thoughtful planning and commitment to excellence that made the original campus a resounding success.
Hatchwood Community Center
One of the most exciting elements of our Phase 2 expansion is the addition of our the new Hatchwood Community Center. This new hub will feature a bistro-style dining venue offering lighter fare, welcoming gathering spaces, an inviting outdoor patio, and more.
Thoughtfully designed for shared use, the Hatchwood Community Center will serve residents across the entire campus, strengthening the sense of community that makes living here so special.

FAQs
-
What apartment sizes will be available?
Both buildings will feature some of our most popular apartment layouts, including one-bedroom, one bedroom with den, and two-bedroom. For more information on floor plans, please speak with your senior living sales counselor.
-
What about financial qualifications?
To join the Priority Program, you will complete both the Priority Program Agreement and a Confidential Data Profile (CDP) form. The CDP form provides your financial information to our finance office; this will determine financial qualification for your desired floorplan. We will assign a Priority Number upon receipt of these forms and will advise of financial qualification status within 30 days. We encourage you to speak with a RiverWoods Durham senior living sales counselor to learn more about our community and your desired floor plan.
-
Is there a fee to join the Priority Program?
There is no fee to join the Priority Program. Prospective residents start their application to join the Priority Program by completing a Priority Agreement and Confidential Data Profile.
-
How does the Priority Program work?
The order in which Priority Program members sign up determines their Priority Number and gives them access to benefits such as invitations to events and exclusive updates. When it’s time to select residences in the hybrid buildings, Priority Program members will be offered a new home based off their Priority Number.
