Join us for a special Luncheon, where current residents will share their experiences, answer your questions, and offer an insider’s perspective on life in our community.

Our Panelists:
Jeanne Richards –Jeannie has lived at RWD for 3.5 years. “It is one of the best personal and financial decisions I have ever made.” Her son and his family live in Durham, so it is also a perfect fit for her extended family. Her young granddaughters visit and sleep over often. Before retirement, Jeannie served as a Superintendent of Schools for 23 years. After a period of teaching in special education, she attended Vanderbilt University and received a doctorate in public administration/program development. Living here at RWD also keeps her active. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Resident Council. She belongs to the Chorus, chairs a book club, and is a member of the Employee Appreciation Fund Committee.
Joan Glazer – is a retired professor of children’s literature at Rhode Island College in Providence. She is the author of two textbooks – which her brothers said were excellent but lacked compelling plots. She loves to travel and work with the International Board on Books for Young People. She lived in Norway for one year. At RiverWoods Durham she enjoys walking the trails, working in the library, taking part in resident presentations, helping with gallery exhibits, and making new friends.
Richard & Bonnie Porzio—This couple makes quite the team, having worked together in their careers. In retirement, Richard has more time for portrait artwork and perfecting his golf game. Bonnie enjoys hiking, reading, and the social aspects of the community.
Bill Ingraham – A Connecticut native who led marketing teams in the tech industry. Bill is an active member of the RWD community participating in many activities and serving as Chair of the RWD Chorus, a member of the Sustainability Committee, and a facilitator of the Unitarian Universalist group.
