Every year, twelve pieces of amazing artwork are selected from dozens of entries to each represent a month in the RiverWoods Exeter Resident Art Calendar. From watercolor to woodworking, from sewing to ceramics, many mediums are represented.
On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Ridge campus hosted the reception displaying the artwork, recognizing the artists, the panel that made selections, and the community life staff who brought it all together.
We’d like to introduce you to a few of the artists and share a little about the inspiration for their work.

Linda crafted a tuffet from her father’s necktie collection. They are a legacy list to him and his time at Harvard Medical School and other professional associations. This is the perfect way to remember what he meant to the family.

Nancy’s watercolor, The View from Below made the cover of the calendar. She explains her unique vantage point for what otherwise might be considered an ordinary painting of a pond. Nancy has always loved watercolor and has traveled the world to paint iconic locations.

Pastels have always been Gail’s medium of choice. This flower basket was part of a flower show at a Unitarian Church in Portsmouth. She is delighted her work is selected in the first year she submitted.

Frances was an art teacher and sculptor. This pinch and slab teapot is created with white clay and then pit fired. The look is inspired by the Japanese tradition of wrapping teapots with fabric to keep the tea warm.

The calendar gallery is on display until January 25th. To see it in person, schedule a tour of RiverWoods Exeter, today.
