We are pleased to announce that Icon has been selected to replace Viibrant, our resident portal service.
What is a portal?
It’s a private website that is accessible to all residents. Think of it as an electronic version of a one-stop-shop Community Board with more functionality than paper flyers.
On the portal, residents can:
- find information on and register for events
- learn about resident-run groups, clubs, and committees
- read announcements and memos from leadership
- obtain dining menus and have a way to place food orders
- sign or download forms
- reserve transportation, and
- look up resident and staff contact information in the directory.
The IT Team, along with input from residents and Community Life, has recently selected a new service, called Icon, replacing the portal service that has been in use for a few years. Portals like these have shown to increase social connections and improve engagement.

- Community-wide text notification service and bi-directional communication, including for emergencies or warnings about inclement weather or an infectious outbreak
- Calendar integration, so that activities can be added to a resident’s personal calendar
- Digital signage to display relevant and real-time information
The rollout and resident training is slated for July 2025.
