The 2025 Seacoast Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place on Sunday, October 26 in downtown Portsmouth, NH. Participants and volunteers gathered at the scenic Peirce Island site prior to the Walk itself to listen to motivating words from Alzheimer’s Association committee members and to partake in the heartfelt flower ceremony. This annual event draws over 1,000 individuals from across the region to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. This year’s fundraising campaign raised an historic $309,723 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
As this year’s Healthy Habits sponsor, RiverWoods brought the Kitchen Table food truck, where members of the dining team served up brain-healthy snacks to keep participants fueled up for their walk. The Seacoast Dementia Hub, a community-based program hosted by RiverWoods, was also present in the community tent, providing education and making new connections.
The RiverWoods team was made up of staff and residents from across all three communities. Through a combination of team contributions and personal fundraising, the RiverWoods team raised $9,901.52 towards the Walk’s goal.
RiverWoods’ commitment to memory support extends far beyond event day. Each RiverWoods campus provides a range of dementia care services from early-stage support to specialized memory care neighborhoods. Through programs like the Seacoast Dementia Hub and NaviGuide, RiverWoods continues to expand access to resources for caregivers throughout New Hampshire.
